With the new year come resolutions, but not for me.
There was a time in my life when, like many people, I would compile a list of resolutions for the new year, but that’s not my thing anymore.
I don’t make a list or even think of any things I want to change starting January 1. Instead, I do things throughout the year whenever I feel prompted to do so. And it’s been really good.
I don’t think I’ve actually kept any new year resolution I’ve ever made, and I’m not surprised.
I think it goes along the lines of procrastination – if you really want to do something you will, and if you really want to change something, you’ll work on it right away.
So, rather than making a resolution, I am going to continue what I’ve been doing: listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and correction and responding right away and pursuing personal goals right away. I won’t wait to do the things I’m being called to. I just don’t want to waste the time I’ve been given. We aren’t promised tomorrow, after all.
