Well, I’ve been off birth control for a few months now, and I’m not pregnant yet.
It doesn’t bother me. I’m still in a weird place of not wanting to get pregnant and wanting to get pregnant all at the same time. I’m still not exactly looking forward to it, but I’m also not afraid to be pregnant again. And I’m not the kind of person who will stress about timing things, so I can get pregnant immediately. I’m a pretty patient person, and I don’t usually mind having to wait for things, but there is one thing that has been bugging me.
Everyone knows that there are a few things that need to happen to make a baby, and the first thing is releasing eggs. Anyone who is a female, knows a female, has a wife, or has girlfriend with whom they even remotely communicate with knows that it happens about once a month, and that is what I’m waiting for.
Like I said, I usually don’t mind waiting for things, but I’ve always hated my period – and if there is anyone in the world who doesn’t hate it, who the heck are you?! So when I say waiting is the worst, I mean waiting for my period is the worst! I’ve never been regular, and I know that it can take a while for my body to get back on schedule after getting off birth control, but it’s pretty terrible knowing it could come any day, and I won’t have any warning!
It’s like having a surprise party, but when you get there you find out it is only people you don’t like, and they are serving all the food you hate. The house smells like fish and sauerkraut, and you know that smell isn’t leaving for a year. And then everyone at the party comes and punches you in the gut for good measure.
And like with that kind of party, it’d be easier to handle if I knew when to expect it, so I could prepare myself.
My midwife prescribed me a birth control pill that will get things back on schedule. I started it last week, and I am hoping it gets to working quickly because I really don’t like having to be on the pill.
