I can’t believe it’s already been a month and a half since I had my surgery! I also can’t believe I haven’t written in over a month. I really need to get back into the swing of things.
Anyway, today is mostly a physical update, which might be too much information for some people, but if you are a woman, know a woman, or ever will know a woman, I think it’s good to know what goes on. I’m going to write an update on how I’ve been doing emotionally this weekend.
On Monday, I had some spotting. On Tuesday, I asked my friends to pray for something that I never in my life thought I would ask for. I asked them to pray that the bleeding would continue and increase.
My doctor said that if the estrogen and progesterone worked, the healthy lining in my uterus would shed, and I would bleed. The amount of bleeding would be a good indication of how successful the surgery was.
Based on the last few days, I think the surgery has been successful. The doctor still wants to be sure that my body will continue having cycles on its own now, so I won’t know if that’s going to happen for about month (HOPEFULLY), but I’m encouraged that my body is doing what it is supposed to be doing so far.
It has been a really long, sometimes completely exhausting, journey these last 3 years, so it’s nice to see a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Glad to hear
