Identity – In the Garden

The last 2 weeks at church have focused on our identities as men and women. Q touched the tip of the iceberg, but if you can get this, I believe you’ll have a great foundation for digging deeper into who God has made you to be.

Hope City Church is changing the world, one heart at a time. For sure listen to videos 2 & 3. You won’t regret it!

Immanuel, God IS With Us

I wonder if I, at the time of His birth, would have realized the magnitude of what was happening, had I been there.

Would I have believed He was who they said He was before the miracles? Before His sermons? Before His Death? Before His Resurrection? Before the veil was torn and a way was made for me?

This day is a big day. The day His Father said, “It’s time. They need me. I want them. Now is the time.” Continue reading “Immanuel, God IS With Us”

Chasing Answers

The last three years have taken me and my husband on quite a journey. From a positive pregnancy test to an abnormal ultrasound to holding our sweet boy who never took a breath on earth to burying him, grieving his loss, and having to rediscover who we were only to find out that my body was somehow damaged along the way. The last three years have stretched us in ways we didn’t know we could handle, but our faithful God knew we could, and He was with us all the way.

Tomorrow we take the next step in finding out what is happening with my body. Continue reading “Chasing Answers”

Breaking

I was sitting on the exam table waiting for the doctor to come back in, when the tears began to fall. I spoke. Not just to myself, but out loud, so the one I hate – the one who hates me and wants to destroy me – could hear what I had to say.

“You will not steal my joy. You will not make me despair. You will not ruin my marriage. You will not destroy me. You will not make me lose hope. I will STILL proclaim the goodness of the Lord! You will not win because HE already has.”

“You will not win because He already has.”

“YOU WILL NOT WIN BECAUSE HE ALREADY HAS WON THE VICTORY!”

When I got to the office and told the doctor I wasn’t Continue reading “Breaking”

Sharing My Story

Yesterday I had the opportunity to share part of my testimony for a women’s event for the second time. One of my best friends recorded the whole thing, so I would be able to share it with some people who wanted to see it, and I thought the simplest way would be to add it to my blog, so here it is. I hope it encourages you.

Haiti: Unity Among Believers

We spent a day at the beach in the middle of the week, and something beautiful happened.

After we had been swimming and snorkeling and bouncing on water trampolines for a while, I made my way back to shore. I passed a couple women – both quite a bit older than me. One was standing where she could just touch the ocean floor and the other was swimming laps around her cousin.

I don’t even remember how our interaction began – someone asked the other what they were doing in Haiti or something like that.

She told me she was living Continue reading “Haiti: Unity Among Believers”

He Became More

I first believed in Jesus and who He was when I was 5.

Although, I don’t remember much about that day, I do remember the day that I met Him. It wasn’t face to face, but it was a meeting nonetheless. He was present when I needed Him and showed up when I cried out. It was this day 16 years ago.

December 21, 1999.

It was also the day my oldest sister was Continue reading “He Became More”
